Tributes Paid To Ireland Athletics Legend Harry Gorman

Tributes have been paid to Irish running legend Harry Gorman who has died at the age of 94.

Harry has been described as Irish Athletics biggest supporter over the last several decades.

His unwavering devotion to the sport saw him attend no fewer than fifteen Olympic Games including Rio in 2016 at the age of 87.

His club Donore Harriers tweeted a tribute to their beloved member –

“We are greatly saddened to announce the passing of another Donore Great, Harry Gorman. Athlete, former national marathon champion, tireless athletics volunteer and athletics supporter the world over – Ar dheis go raibh a anam”
